Adam Lambert finally came out in Rolling Stone today, ending weeks of speculation about his sexuality.

He came out in style, and didn’t pull any punches. Here are just some of the highlights from the article (my thoughts in parentheses):

- Being On American Idol: ““I was like, ‘I’m going to glue rhinestones on my eyelids, bitch!’” (Hehe.)

Disclosing his sexuality: “Right after the finale, I almost started talking about it to the reporters, but I thought, ‘I’m going to wait for Rolling Stone, that will be cooler,’…I didn’t want the Clay Aiken thing and the celebrity-magazine bullshit. I need to be able to explain myself in context.” (Notice how he disses Aiken again.)

Kris Allen is his type? Wow: “They put me with the cute guy. Distracting! He’s the one guy I found attractive in the whole group on the show: nice, nonchalant, pretty and totally my type — except that he has a wife. I mean he’s open-minded and liberal, but he’s definitely 100% straight.” (Um, they shared a room, you know.)

On those “photos” during Burning Man: “I was looking for something and I wasn’t sure what it was. [After experimenting with] certain funguses, I had a psychedelic experience where I looked up at the clouds and went, ‘Oh!’ I realized that we all have our own power, and that whatever I wanted to do, I had to make happen.” (Not gonna be good for record sales.)

When he tried (gasp!) drugs for the first time: At the age of 21, during his six-month European tour of Hair. That was also when he first dyed his hair black. In Germany, he smoked pot and tried Ecstasy. He doesn’t like cocaine, though.

His association with Clay Aiken: “Clay Aiken’s gay, and I’m gay, and we couldn’t be more different. The only thing that is the same about everyone in the gay community is that we’re gay. … Why can’t we talk about a human community?” (Round 2 with Aiken. Ding!)

And finally, his record deal with RCA and 19 Entertainment? It’s done. (Good. now we can get back to the music.)
