Gene Simmons Doesn’t Think Adam Lambert Will Be A Rock Star - American Idol 8

Add Gene Simmons to the list of Adam Lambert haters. How can these people not see the talent this guy has?

It’s unbelievable to me that a rock god like Simmons–let alone someone who just had a duet with Lambert in the Idol finale–would say something like this, especially after it’s obvious to everyone on planet Earth that the one thing Lambert can do, is sing rock songs.

Maybe Simmons didn’t catch the umpteen episodes of Idol when Lambert basically did everything except tear out his own vocal cords–under control, mind you–and rewrite several rock classics.

So, here is Simmons’ response in its entirety, but this is Gene’s snippet: Respectfully, I don’t think Adam is a rock singer. He sounds much more convincing singing ballads, and Broadway shows. His voice doesn’t seem to have a “rock quality.” But, I’m sure he’s going to do just fine.

Doesn’t have a “rock quality?” Uh, whatever, Gene. Guess we’ll find out if Gene’s flown the cuckoo’s nest soon enough, if the rumors pairing Adam with Queen, also rock icons, are true.

Well, I didn’t suspect him being a rock singer because I dont think its his character, although he can impersonate glamrock music WELL, but i mean, his first original song was techno. Who knows, I see him as someone like bjork, but not too otherworldy, I mean coz he likes to be different? I mean doesnt mean Gene Simmons is a hater
