According to the horse’s mouth herself, Paula Abdul may not be back next season for American Idol.

But she gave some feedback on her future, including that Idol has invited her to stay on as a judge for as long as the show is on the air.

Paula says she “honestly has no idea” if Kara will return, either. But Simon is still under contract for one more year.

And Paula says she has other things she could do. Let’s not forget, though, the sadness accompanying her last year when Paula Goodspeed, a deranged fan, killed herself in front of Abdul’s house.

So Paula will go out with a bang, if this is indeed her last season on the show, with the most talent ever assembled in one season. And she even says this season has been the most memorable.

And there’s the likelihood we’ll see her again on Dancing With The Stars.
