Elliott Yamin, Kimberly Caldwell, Justin Guarini Discuss American Idol 8 Finale - Top 2 - Video - Larry King Live

Published by bjcrock at 10:56 pm under Elliott Yamin, Justin Guarini, american idol Edit This

Elliott Yamin, Kimberly Caldwell and Justin Guarini were on Larry King Live and Ryan Seacrest was listening in to the festivities, so you knew it would be an interesting interview.

The trio sounded off about the judges and were professional about their comments. Ryan did admit that he found out about the final two beforehand, and he admitted that he’ll know who is the winner before anybody else does.

Larry King called Ryan a sadist. hehe

As for the trio, Yamin is of utmost importance at the moment, since he just came out with a new album.

And here’s his new single, “Fight For Love,” which dropped recently. Listen to it below.

And you can watch Caldwell and Guarini guide us through another season of American Idol and much more on the TV Guide Channel.

It seems like many people (former Idols included) want to deal with only one side of the American Idol “coin”. On one side, you have the issue of who is the most talented singer. This issue should have absolutely nothing to do with race, religion, sexuality, ethnicity, gender or any other point of discrimination. Either you are the most talented singer or not, and of course there is the issue of plain old personal music style preference.

On the other side of the A. I. “coin” is an issue that is a very clear one for me. It is the Role Model issue. Whether you agree/like it or not, the A.I. title holder is a role model of sorts, just like the ladies that are chosen to serve as Ms. America, and like positions. That is why some of the aforementioned points come into play for why voters chose who they voted for, in addition to singing ability. Adam’s racy pictures, the androgynous singing, the questionable YouTube performances, and the sexual ambiguity - especially dodging the direct questions about it caused him to lose my votes early on. I would rather point a child in the direction of Kris’s lifestyle, since it is in alignment with what I believe in. That is why what some may think should not matter, when choosing an American Idol, really does matter after all.

I watched this interview when it first came out. The conversation turned to Adam’s “picture controversy” and Justin G. said that he didn’t think that it mattered to the American public. Needless to say that the look on Justin’s face, at the finale, was as shocked and dumbfounded as the look on Simon C.’s face. I dare say, it mattered after all . . .
