Von Smith - “Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word” by Elton John - Wild Card - Top 36 - American Idol 8
After destroying everyone the night before Smith seemed a lock to make it into the Top 13. But as luck would have it, Smith selected a depressing song, which was a bad move and the judges let him have it.
Dang! Smith was the one guy who, vocally, can challenge Adam Lambert. Simon said it didn’t start well and sounded boring. Randy didn’t like the song and neither did Kara. Ouch. Paula was more forgiving, just telling the frustrated singer that he “thought too hard.”
She was the one to give him the bad news that he didn’t make it to the Top 13. but I’m telling you…if one of these 13 happen to drop out for some weird reason, like a skeleton popping out of the closet, I could see the judges letting him back in, because he’s that good.
