Michael Castro, Unlike Other Idols’ Relatives, Makes It To Hollywood - Kansas City Auditions - American Idol 8
You;ve heard about all the other American Idols and their siblings. Fantasia’s brother and so forth. So when Jason Castro heard his brother Michael would be giving American Idol a shot, he was probably baffled, since Michael had never sung before. But he was there at the Kansas City auditions with the little bro, offering support, advice and laughter.
When Michael told Ryan Seacrest he had only sung 20 days in his life prior to his audition, you know some eyebrows were raised, since some people had been preparing for this moment forever!
But amazingly enough, little Castro pulled it off with the rooster tail and all and actually (amazingly!) got a golden ticket to Hollywood. I don’t know if the judges felt sorry for him, or knew what they were getting…but the song he sang wasn’t that bad!
Actually, I liked it and would go so far to say that if Castro actually got a vocal coach and some singing lessons, he may be better than his big brother Jason! That’s saying lots, since Jason was a finalist in Idol 7 and continues to have some success on his publicity tour.
Hopefully Michael is a tad more proactive than his brother, but with the Castros, you never know what you’re getting. Case in point: Michael Castro, the new dark horse for Idol 8. I can’t wait to see what other siblings pop up this season.

Stumble It!

I thought he sounded pretty good also. I really wasn’t much of fan of his brothers last season. He picked some weird song choices I think.
Yeah Michael has some singing talent. That would be nice since the majority of those who make it far are seasoned vets. Hopefully Idol gives him a chance.
