Well, the ladies of American Idol have been busy in the new year, haven’t they?

Amanda Overmyer got the party started at Jerilee’s in her hometown of Lafayette, Indiana on New Year‘s Eve. (Video above.) Here she is singing “Iroquois Lane” which is off of her new album “Solidify.” Ah, the song is well beyond its years. LOL Like most Overmyer fare it’s bluesy, it’s rockin’ and it’s probably years ahead of its time. I kept thinking of “The Devil Went Down To Georgia“ when I heard this one. - Vote For The Worst

Kelly Clarkson will reportedly release her next album in March of this year. It will be called “Masquerade” and her label reps from RCA say her days of fighting Clive Davis over creative control, a concert tour 86’d and just generally being a bitch are over and done with. She is now “ready to take on the pop world again.” Her cohorts, her writers and most of the same people who were behind her before and reportedly behind her again. I guess we’ll find out the answer in March. - Wall Street Journal

And finally, not everyone has an album coming out, but they have some big news to share anyway! Um, BTW Gina Glocksen got married on New Year’s Eve. It was awfully decent of Jordin Sparks and Haley Scarnato (photo above) to attend, instead of going out and partying. There was some clinking of the glasses, but like Jordin said in her MySpace blog, Gina was more concerned about making sure everyone sang (a love song, to be exact) and had a good time. It may have been cold, but there were warm feelings everywhere. - Jordin Sparks’ MySpace Blog & Suburban Chicago News
