Kellie Pickler Nominated For “New Artist of the Year” At CMA’s - American Idol - Kellie Pickler
Kellie Pickler has been chosen again for “New Artist of the Year” at the upcoming Country Music Awards. Normally most awards shows choose somebody in the “New Artist” category only once. But Kellie must be so good that they chose her twice!
Pickler, or Pick Me, as I like to refer to her is fast becoming a star in the world of country music. She has parlayed a top 10 finish on Idol way back when into a fairly successful music career, and not everyone in Idol-land has been able to do that.
She’s followed up the Idol success with hits like I Wonder, Red High Heels and Things That Never Cross A Man’s Mind. Her style is extremely introspective for a country star and she has a rabid following of fans who chart her moves from coast-to-coast.
She’s also appeared as a guest correspondent on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and was a huge, albeit ditzy-dorky game show hit on Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader.
This year at the CMA’s she’s up against some serious country music talent, however: Jason Aldean is rising fast in country music circles and Rodney Atkins has been at it so long it’s hard to call him a newcomer. The trio Lady Antebellum is a long shot and so is James Otto.
My hunch is it will come down to Pickler and Aldean, with Aldean getting the nod because he’s enjoying the kind of quick-hit success as Pickler’s friend and Idol compadre, Carrie Underwood. (Underwood co-hosts the CMA’s this Wednesday.)
Who do you think has a better chance…Aldean or Pickler?

Stumble It!

I love Kellie Pickler, but the girl is dumb. And she was a lot prettier before she went “Nashville” on us. I don’t care who wins.
