Kristy Lee Cook To Appear On Grand Ole Opry This Weekend - American Idol 7 - Kristy Lee Cook
Remember Kristy Lee Cook? She with the story about selling her horse? She has some history, you know. She was probably the only girl to have sung one song (“Amazing Grace” for those of you counting at home) to get her through the early and Hollywood rounds last season.
Seriously, people, you can go back and look at the tapes, but she sang ONE song TO get to the final 50 last season. That’s talent! (Or luck. Or television.)
Now Kristy Lee is preparing for her show on the Grand Ole Opry this Saturday. To warm up (or just to get some needed publicity; more on that in a minute) she will sing the National Anthem Saturday morning at the Vanderbilt football game. Vandy is experiencing some unprecedented success in college football this year, so maybe singing at the Vandy game will rub off on Kristy Lee.
As for her debut album, Why Wait, it isn’t exactly tearing up the charts (it has only sold about 19,000 copies at press time).
However, her feature single off the album, entitled “15 Minutes Of Shame” is doing okay on the Billboard Country Charts, topping out at No. 32 at the moment.
I wish the best of luck to Kristy. She will become huge in the music industry. She is a beautiful, sincere, real country girl with allot of guts, tuffness and a good heart. I beleive she will also be huge if she ever starts singing christian music. She has overcome much and it will pay off. She seems to work hard and smart and treats her fans great. That is the secret to success in this industry.
